A Journal for Jordan

February 19, 2009

by: Leah Miller

In the spirit of being a part of the online military community, this blog will spread the word about other military family inspired programs and initiatives.

A Journal for Jordan is a mother’s letter to her son–fierce in its honesty–about the father he lost before he could even speak. It is also a father’s advice and prayers for the son he will never know.”

Dana Canedy wrote the book, A Journal for Jordan, after her fiance was killed in the line of duty serving in Iraq. However, this is much more than just a book. In the midst of grieving for the loss of her fiance and infant son’s father, she commits to writing a book about him and their life. And an interesting tidbit that sparked my interest is that it appears a motivation for writing the book was to help others. Dana reveals her altruistic complexion. This story is so heart-wrenching. Just listening to the Army Bloggers Roundtable interview with Dana brings tears to my eyes. I can’t wait to actually get a copy of the book.
