Life with My Special Ks

In the spirit of being a part of the online military community, this blog will spread the word about other military family inspired programs and initiatives.

I found the story of this incredible military family on their blog, My Special Ks, which is authored by Renee Garcia. Here’s a little info about Renee

Really, what can I say about ME? I’m a Christian, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin, a friend. My name is Renee, I am 29 years old, I am married to the Army…oh wait I mean I’m married to a Soldier, my hero. Same thing right? I am a misplaced Californian or maybe a Tennessean who’s found her way home. I am a mini-van driving soccer mom…I always knew I would be! I am blessed to be able to stay home with my 4 amazing kids. Kassidy: my beautiful, too smart for her own good, funny, dramatic 9 year old princess; Kameron: my high strung, incredibly intelligent, silly, sometimes mysterious 7 year old cookie monster; my 4 year old Angel, Kennedy: my heart outside my body; and Keeghan: my crazy, funny, silly, handsome 1 year old who enjoys hearing me say “NO” 100 times a day. I’m so incredibly blessed.”

I am a mother myself. So I know firsthand how demanding and trying it can be to care for two healthy children. But I can’t even begin to fathom the amount of strength and courage required of Renee, and to see her carry on with such enthusiasm is simply astounding. Join the Garcias’ journey as they face Down Syndrome, Leukemia, deployments and adoption amoung the trials of everyday life with four young children. Renee and her family have so much information to offer on a wide variety of topics as well as inspiration.
