TroopTube connects military family

November 21, 2008

In the spirit of being a part of the online military community, this blog will spread the word about other military family inspired programs and initiatives.

Servicemembers can receive video “shout-outs” from home, as well as senior-leader messages, thanks to the new TroopTube online information service, according to military officials. TroopTube is a new Web site managed by the Defense Department’s Military OneSource online information network. Similar to YouTube, the new service can be accessed at www.trooptube.tv/home.

I have spent the past week checking out the videos on TroopTube. What a great resource for troops and families to connect! The content is not limited to those directly affiliated with the military, but also from those who are supporters of our troops. The site is easy to use and explore. The videos are separated by service and category, such as Families, Buddies, Events and even Pets! Check it out and tell me what you think!

Our very own, Major General Keith Thurgood, recorded a shout-out to our troops from the AUSA conference last month and uploaded to TroopTube. Listen now!

How will you use TroopTube?
